Rules Blackjack

General Information

Blackjack is a game played with one to six standard decks of 52 cards (Jokers are not included). The object is to beat the house.

Prime Poker.com Blackjack's game differs from other Blackjack games as you can play up to five boxes per round against the house with a choice of different tables with sets of slightly different rules.

At this present moment, only one rule counts, which is Prime Poker.com House rules. The object of the game is to get your hand as close to 21 as possible without going "bust" exceeding 21 on the score or the dealer beating your hand.

A draw known as a (PUSH) returns the bet to the player. A winning game pays the made bet 1 to 1.

Basic rules

Picture cards are worth 10. Number cards, 2-10, count as face value, where as aces are valued at either 1 or 11, depending on what cards are held.

Play takes place against a computerized dealer. The dealer deals either one or two cards (depending on the set of rules used), and the player is dealt two cards in each box, the initial deal. The player's cards are dealt face up. One of the dealer's cards is also dealt face up.

Based on the face up cards of the initial deal the player has two basic options. They can either "HIT" and receive another card to add to their two face up cards or they can "STAND", passing on their turn to the next box (remember you can play up to five boxes per round). A decision to "HIT" will either result in a "bust" or another decision to "HIT" or "STAND".

A player can keep hitting new cards until they are satisfied or they bust (cards adding up to more than 21) at which point he has lost.

When all the players have made their decision's, it's now the dealers turn to flip his second initial card (the one dealt face down), or deal himself a second card. Based on the total amount of the two cards the dealer acts, determinded bij the set of fixed rules.

If the dealer's total is less than 17 the house will automatically draw. If the dealer's total is 17 or above, the house will always stand.

Blackjack

A combination of an ace and any TEN-card on the initial deal is called a Blackjack or a natural. Unless the dealer also makes a Blackjack, the player's Blackjack hand pays bet 3 to 2. If the dealer makes Blackjack too, the result is a PUSH.

Initial deal

Box 1: K+9 = 19
Box 2: 7+5 = 12
Box 3: J+3 = 13

Dealer: 9+X

Box 1 has 19 and stands.
Box 2 has 12 and hits - receiving a 10 for a total of 22. BUST!
Box 3 has 13 and hits also. Third card is an 8 for a total of 21.

Dealer flips its second initial deal card revealing a 10 for a total of 19 and must stand.

Box 1 PUSH (bet returned). Box 2 LOSS (bet lost). Box 3 WIN (bet pays 1 to 1).

Basic Features

The following features are dependant on the chosen rule set and may vary. Please check the individual sets for variations.

Insurance

If the visible card of the dealer is an ace, the player may buy "insurance" by betting an additional 0.5 times their initial bet. In case of the dealer hitting a Blackjack, the player's original bet will lose, but the insurance will win 2 to 1 for a total even result. Thus, the insurance win covers the loss of the original bet.
If the dealer does not make a Blackjack the insurance bet is lost and play continues as normal.

Even money

A player being dealt a Blackjack whilst the dealer flips an ace can decide to go for EVEN MONEY. This means reducing their win from 3:2 to 1:1, but also not risking a PUSH if the dealer also makes a Blackjack. The Even Money option is only available when the dealer shows an ace.

Splitting

If a player is dealt two cards of the same value they are entitled to "split" the cards, in other words double their initial bet, and play the two hands separately. The first hand is dealt a second card. The player must then decide whether they would like to "STAND" or "HIT". Once the player has finished the first hand, they move onto the second, repeating the same process. After the player is satisfied with both hands play continues to the next box. A player can split a split hand. So an initial deal of 8+8 could be split into two hands of 8.

No matter the outcome, note that split hands that end up with a total of 21 will not receive Blackjack.

Double Down

The player may double their bet after viewing their initial two cards. They will then only be allowed one additional card to complete their hand.

Keyboard shortcuts

The following keyboard shortcuts can be used in Blackjack

  • F1=ReBet
  • F2=Deal
  • F5=Hit
  • F6=Stand
  • F7=Double
  • F8=Split

Rule sets

There are numerous variations on how the game of Blackjack is played.

Rules Roulette

What is Roulette?

This classic casino game is easy to play! Just pick a number and spin the ball. But it requires years to master it at all.

How to Play

Placing and removing bets

Place your chips by using the left mouse button and remove them by using the right mouse button or by clicking the Retract button (F2). The retract button withdraws all placed bets. The Re-bet (F1) option allows you to instantly copy all bets that you made during the previous spin.

Cashier

To add funds please click on the cashier ($) icon. To cash out simply leave the game (X icon). Your winnings will then be automatically added to your Prime Poker.com account.

Claiming your winnings

All number bet wins are automatically added to your stack. Outside bets, are added to your bet. To claim these, if you do not wish to play the same bet again with twice the amount, remove the chips from the bet.

Previous spins

Previous rolls can be accessed by accessing the history tab located at the right hand side of the game window.

Multiple players

Other players can join in placing bets at the same time, as each player has their own chip colour, to avoid confusion or duplication.

Spinning the wheel

Once you've finished placing all your bets, it’s time to spin the wheel. You do so by pressing Done (F3). You can follow the outcome of the spin in the expanded Wheel Spin window.

Rules and Bets

The object of Roulette is to pick the right number, the right feature of that number (such as colour) or to bet on the right section of numbers. The winning number is decided by spinning a ball in a revolving wheel consisting of 37 numbers in the European version (one zero) or 38 numbers for the American Roulette featuring both a zero and a double zero.

Please note that the order of numbers in the wheel American and European Roulette differs. The Roulette layout is divided into two separate divisions - the number layout and the outside chances field.

The number layout consists of thirty six numbers, a zero and a double zero (exists only in American roulette), making a total of 37 or 38 playable numbers. The zero and the double zero plays exactly the same way as all the other numbers but is excluded in any outside chances bets. The outside chances field is the common name of the twelve outside chances divided into two separate types of bets. Six 1 to 1 bets, red, black, odd, even, high numbers and low numbers, and six 2 to 1, three columns bets and three dozen bets.

Number layout

Playing the numbers is easy and often very rewarding. After deciding what number to play there are several options available. The easiest way is to simply place a chip straight on the number. By doing so, you play that number only. Other options includes splitting the bet between two connecting numbers like 1-2 or 6-9, playing corners which are placed in the crosshair of four numbers, streets, three number in a row for example 4 through 6, or playing a sixline which is a double street.

Outside chances field

By playing in the outside field your bets will cover a great amount of numbers in just one bet. The outside chances bet can be divided into two categories: those that pay 1 to 1 and those that pay 2 to 1. If the ball lands on number within a field or category that you have bet, you win. 1 to 1 bets includes the 'colour' bet red/black, the 'even' bet even/odd and the 'hilo' bet high/low. By making a 1 to 1 bet, you cover 18 numbers. All 2 to 1 bets cover 12 numbers each.

Rules regarding 0 and 00

You can also place number bets on the 0 and 00 just like on any other number. The payout is exactly the same. But neither 0 nor 00, however, is included in any outside chances bet. So if any of the zeros hit, all outside chances lose.

Combining bets

Roulette becomes really exciting when you place combination bets. By spreading various types of number bets across the table you not only spread the risks but potentially huge wins if luck strikes.

Let's look at this a bit more. You play your favourite number “8” covering it with a straight bet, a split bet, a street bet and a corner bet. The wheel spins and 8 lands... Your total win will then be 35+17+11+8= 71 times the amount of one chip! That means if you bet using $1 chips, an initial bet of $4 this would pay out to $71 - plus the four winning chips left on the layout! Not bad.

You can also combine outside chances with number bets. An example of this would be to place a rather large bet on red and securing that with a small straight up bet on zero as cover. Just in case. Hedging your bets!

By looking at the wheel you can also figure out adjacent numbers combinations, in essence covering a pie shaped section of the wheel. Roulette games vary, they can be fast or very slow depending on your preference, they are never the less exciting and entertaining. It’s up to you!

Hot and Burning Tables

The term Hot Table (HT) is a great expression which emanates from a build up of rounds where the house loses; or a round where the player(s) win more than they lose. If 9 out of 15 rounds are won by the player(s) then the table is given the hot label...

The HOT soon turns to BURN if that ratio of wins goes up to 11 out of 15 rounds. If you spot one of these tables get in quick! If you can!

Rules Caribbean Pirate Poker

What's Caribbean Pirate Poker?

Caribbean Pirate Poker is a poker based table game where you play against the house and includes a progressive jackpot.

With the basic knowledge of poker hands, you're well equipped to play Caribbean Pirate Poker. The object of the game is to be dealt a better five card poker hand than the dealer, or take the chance that the dealer does not have a qualifying hand at all. That is a hand that contains at least a pair or a combination of one ace and a king.

Caribbean Pirate Poker is played with a standard 52 card deck. The game begins with each player placing an initial bet. All players and the dealer are then dealt five cards face down. The dealer exposes one of their cards face up before the players look at their cards. After checking their own cards, players must decide, based on the strength of their hand and the information provided by the dealer's face up card, to either fold their hand or raise the initial bet. This second bet is called the raise bet. When opting to make a raise bet in Caribbean Pirate Poker you always raise double the amount of the initial bet. No more, no less. The raise bet is ALWAYS twice the size of the initial bet.

One of seven scenarios can occur:

  1. The player thinks his hand is not as good as the dealer's hand and folds, forfeiting his initial ante bet.
  2. The player does not have a qualifying hand, but gambles that the dealer doesn't have one either (remember the dealer plays with one card face up) and raises his bet on a "bluff". The dealer's hand does not qualify and the player wins 1 to 1 on his initial bet. The raise bet is returned.
  3. The player does not have a qualifying hand, gambling that the dealer doesn't have one either raising his bet on a "bluff". But the dealer's hand DOES qualify, so both the initial bet and the raise bet are lost.
  4. The player's hand qualifies and he raises his bet. The dealer's hand does not qualify so the player only wins 1 to 1 on his initial bet. The raise bet's returned.
  5. The player's hand qualifies so raises his bet. The dealer's hand qualifies too but is beaten by the player's hand. The player wins 1 to 1 on the initial bet and also wins on his raise bet. How many times the raise bet pays depends on what hand the player wins with. Go to Payout Table.
  6. The player's hand qualifies and he raises his bet. Again the dealer exposes an even better hand and both the ante bet and the raise bet are lost.
  7. The player's hand qualifies and again raises his bet. The dealer then turns over EXACTLY the same hand (barring the suits). The result is a push (or draw) the bet is returned to the player. An example of a push scenario would be if both the player and the dealer have two pairs of aces and kings with a queen on the side. So in Caribbean Pirate Poker you could in fact win every hand by simply gambling that the dealer will not hold a qualifying hand. But that's a very risky way to play.

Progressive Jackpot!

The Progressive Jackpot is played by placing a special jackpot side bet before each hand. This bet is played separately and does not rely or depend on the outcome of the dealer's hand. If you are dealt a hand that qualifies for the jackpot, it pays on top of any other winnings gained from the hand. Whether the dealer's hand qualifies or not does not matter. To claim the entire Jackpot you need to have a Royal Straight Flush of any suit.

Special rules for Jackpot payouts

In the unlikely occurrence of two players playing the same limit, hitting Jackpot hands during the same deal the following rules apply:

All fixed Jackpot payouts (Flush, Full House and Four of Kind) always pay full. Jackpots are paid out right to left (based on the player's perspective). So if two players during the same hand hit the jackpot the player on the right will win a jackpot based on the current jackpot amount. Then the jackpot resets to its starting value before moving on and paying the player on the left.

Craps Rules

Craps is a game of 2 dice with the outcome of the rolled dice deciding which bets win. Known for its flexibility and wide variety of playable bets, each roll of the dice offers an opportunity to place exciting bets of various risk/reward. However, one thing you must learn before fully appreciating the game, and to take advantage of the varying betting opportunities is that not all rolls are the same, and not all bets are available on every roll.

Note: All rolls count, even those where the dice end up on top of each other.

The game is divided into sessions, with some bets only available before each session; while others are available only during a session. The session begins with a roll known as the 'come out roll' and continues until a target number set by the come out roll is matched, or a 7 is rolled.

Whilst you don't have to wait for a session to end before placing bets. Some bets are only available during the come out roll.

The session

A session starts when the first player arrives at the table. He is the shooter. He must bet before he can roll. Called a line bet.

Pre-session bets that are available will be discussed in the Craps Bets section

The line bet marks the start of a session and will stay on the table, potentially during several rolls, until it either wins or loses. A line bet can not be retracted or added to once a session is under way.

Point numbers

Once the come out roll does not total 2, 3, 7, 11 or 12 a session is initiated. All line bets remain until they are won or lost. But although they remain on the layout, as soon as a session is initiated, all line bets actually transform into another set of bets - point bets.

As soon as we have a winner in either line or point bet the current session ends and a new one begins with a new come out roll.

Once you know how to play the line and point bets and the basic session rules, you are ready to move on to all the other exciting bets, some of which are among the best bets available in a casino.

Craps Bets and Payouts

Line Bet - pays 1 to 1
Can only be placed on come out rolls.

The line bet consists of 2 opposite bets. You either place chips in the Pass Line bet field or in the Don't Pass Bar field.

Pass line7, 112, 3, 12-
Don't pass2, 37, 1112

Any other numbers rolled will initiate a session and the number rolled becomes the point number. A white marker is placed above the point number in the number bets field.

Check these examples:

Charlie arrives at the table placing a $5 bet in the pass line field. He rolls the come out roll et voila! A 6 and a 1 comes up, totalling 7. His pass line bet wins and the session ends.

He then goes to play the same pass line bet and rolls a new come out roll. This time hitting a 5 and a 4, totalling 9. The 9 does NOT end the session, so his bet stays in the pass line field and a marker is placed above the number 9 in the number bets field. The 9 is now the point number for that session.

Point Bet – pays 1 to 1
Can not be placed on come out rolls.

Example: Charlie places a $5 pass line bet and rolls the come out roll - a 9. The bet neither wins nor loses and so the session continues with the 9 now marked as the point number.

Charlie's bet is still in place but is now in fact a point bet based on the point number 9.

For his bet to win, he needs to roll another 9 before he rolls a 7.

Had his first line bet been a don't pass line bet he now needs to roll the 7 before rolling the point number.

Pass line point betpoint number7
Don't pass point bet7point number

He must match the point number before he can remove this bet, or score a win or rolling the 7 (a loss) and thus ending the session.

Notice how the 2 initial pass line and don't pass line bets also work in opposite ways as point number bets.

Every time your line bet wins your winnings are added to the initial bet.

So in order to bring it home you must either retract all your bets (F2) or decrease the now doubled line bet.

Come/Don't Come – pays 1 to 1
Can't be placed on come out rolls.

The come bets are line bets and work just like pass/don't pass bets. But instead of being placed during come out rolls they are placed before each roll within a session, known as field rolls.

Come7, 112, 3, 12-
Don't come2, 37, 1112

If the come/don't come bet wins or loses it is either removed or doubled up (you can remove it at any time).

If a come/don't come bets neither wins or loses on the roll, this becomes a point bet based on the number rolled.

But since that number will NOT be marked by a white marker, instead, the bet is moved from the come/don't come field to the corresponding point bet field on the layout. Just give it a try and you will figure it out quickly!

Hardway
Can not be placed on come out rolls.

Hardways bets are based on the following double combinations.

Can not be placed on come out rolls.

2-27 to 1
3-39 to 1
4-49 to 1
5-57 to 1

You win if the specific double is rolled before a 7 or any other combination totalling that sum is rolled. Example: The hardway bet 2-2 loses if 1-3 is rolled.

Field Bet
Can be placed before any roll.

The field bet is a bet based on the total sum of a roll and is divided into three separate bets.

3, 4, 9, 10 or 115-81 to 1
25-82 to 1
125-83 to 1

Big 6 and Big 8
Can be placed before any roll.

These two bets works just like point bets. You are hoping for a 6 or an 8, depending on what number you choose, being rolled before the 7 is rolled.

6 (if bet on 6)71 to 1
8 (if bet on 8)71 to 1

All other outcomes of the roll is a push (bet remains).

Number Bet
Can be placed before any roll.

Number bets are bets is combination betting speculating on a series of numbers being rolled and can be found to the outmost right of the layout mixed in with the hardway bets. If the combination is not matched on the following roll, the bet is lost. (Notice how this differs from the hardway bets which do not necessarily win or lose on each roll.)

The "Any Craps" bet wins if a 2, 3 or a 12 is rolled. The "7" bet wins on any combination that totals 7.

1+1 and 6+630 to 1
1+2 and 5+615 to 1
Any Craps: 2, 3 or 127 to 1
7 (total of 7)4 to 1

The C-E Bet
Can be placed before any roll.

The C-E bet is located in between the line bets field and the number bets field.

It's a one roll bet that either wins or loses on the consecutive roll.

2, 3 or 123 to 1
117 to 1
All otherLOSS

Place Bet
Can't be placed on come-out rolls.

Place bets are always inactive during come-out rolls.

A place bet is a bet that the sum of 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 respectively will be rolled before a 7 is rolled. Each bet covers one of the numbers, however the payout for certain numbers (like 4 and 10) are identical. Bets are placed in the narrow field just below the point bet number area.

4 and 1079 to 5
5 and 977 to 5
6 and 877 to 6

Any other outcome other than a winning place bet number or a 7 leaves the bet untouched. Once the point number is rolled the session ends, and the next roll will consequently be a new come-out roll during which all place bets will be inactive.

Buy Bet
Can't be placed on come-out rolls.

Buy bets are inactive during come-out rolls.

A buy bet is a bet that one of the numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10 will be rolled before a 7 is rolled.

By picking one of these numbers, and placing a chip in the point number area for that number, you hope to roll that number before a 7 is rolled. Depending on the likelihood of the 7 being rolled before the number you picked, the payout varies accordingly.

You can remove a buy bet at any time.

4 and 1072 to 1
5 and 973 to 2
6 and 876 to 5

Note: All winning buy bets are charged a 5% commission. Do note that payouts will be calculated after the commission has been charged.

Example: Charlie places a $100 Buy Bet on 10 (pays 2:1). He wins and $5 is charged from his original bet leaving $95. The payout then equals $95*2=$190. Thus he nets $185 from the bet. This is the figure displayed in the chat.

Lay Bets
Can't be placed on come-out rolls.

Lay bets are inactive during come-out rolls.

A lay bet is a bet that a 7 will be rolled before any of the numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, and 10.

By picking one of these numbers, and placing a chip in the field above the Point number area, you hope to roll a 7 before that number. Depending on the likelihood of the 7 being rolled before the number you picked, the payout varies accordingly.

You can remove a Lay bet at any time.

4 and 1071 to 2
5 and 972 to 3
6 and 875 to 6

Note: All winning Lay bets will be charged a 5% commission.

Laying and Taking Line Bet Odds

Can only be placed in conjunction with a line bet.

The opportunity to either take or lay odds is a one of the prime features of Craps. Making it one of the best bets you can make in a casino.

You place a take/lay odds bet by making an additional bet behind your line bet AFTER the come out roll has been rolled and a point number has been established.

So as soon as a point number has been established you can make the take/lay odds bet.

Which one you make depends on whether your initial bet was a pass line bet (take odds) or a don’t pass bet (lay odds).

You take/lay odds by adding chips behind your initial line bet on the layout.

How large a take/lay odds bet you can make is calculated by multiplying your line bet with a set factor.

A take odds bet wins if the point number is rolled before a 7 and lay odds bets wins if a 7 is rolled before the point number. Just like the initial line bets.

Taking odds – roll point number before 7:

6 or 86 to 52 x Pass line bet
5 or 93 to 22 x Pass line bet
4 or 102 to 12 x Pass line bet

Laying odds – roll 7 before point number:

6 or 85 to 62,4 x Pass line bet
5 or 92 to 33 x Pass line bet
4 or 101 to 24 x Pass line bet

Laying and Taking Come Bet Odds

Can only be placed in conjunction with a come bet.

Take/lay odds for come bets works just like take/lay odds for line bets and is a very important feature of Craps.

You place a take/lay odds bet by adding chips on top of your initial come/don't come bet AFTER a point number has been established.

So as soon as a point number has been established you can make the take/lay odds bet.

Which one you make depends on whether your initial bet was a come bet (take odds) or a don't come bet (lay odds).

The bet is placed by making an additional bet on top of your come bet, which is placed on the point bet field.

How large a take/lay odds bet you can make is calculated by multiplying your line bet with a set factor.

A take odds bet wins if the point number is rolled before a 7, and lay odds bets wins if a 7 is rolled before the point number. Just like the initial come bets.

Taking odds – roll point number before 7:

6 or 86 to 52 x Pass line bet
5 or 93 to 22 x Pass line bet
4 or 102 to 12 x Pass line bet

Laying odds – roll 7 before point number:

6 or 86 to 52 x Pass line bet
5 or 93 to 22 x Pass line bet
4 or 102 to 12 x Pass line bet

It's poker, with the difference to get a better hand than a pair of tens, but you play against yourself. How you decide when to go for the big bucks or when to minimize the risks, is up to you. You can actually pull back most of your bet, even after the cards have been dealt!

How to Play

Placing and removing bets

Place your gaming chips by using the left mouse button and remove them by using the right mouse button. The Re-bet (F1) places a bet equivalent to the bet made during the previous hand.

By placing a chip in one of the three identical, circular betting fields you automatically place three equal bets in all of them.

Deal the Cards

Once you have finished betting press Deal (F2) to receive your cards.

Cashier

To add more funds to play please click on the cashier ($) icon. Cashing out is done by simply leaving the game (X). All your winnings will then be automatically added to you Prime Poker.com account.

Winnings

All winnings are automatically added to your stack.

Ride and Pull

Once the cards are dealt you must either let your bet ride (F5) or pull one of them back (F6).

If you ride the bet it is still in play but if you pull out it is taken back and you can neither win or lose.

Millennium Ride Rules

In Millennium Ride each player places three equal bets in a row of circles on the layout. The dealer then deals each player three cards. He also deals two community cards face down in front of him.

The object is to get a hand -10's or better- by combining the three personal cards with the two community cards shared by all players.

In the first round of betting, the player, based on his knowledge of his three personal cards, must decide if he wants to let his entire bet ride or if he wants to pull back one of the three bets.

In round two the dealer flips one of the community cards and the player must again decide, this time based on the four cards known to him, if he wants his remaining bet to ride or pull back another bet.

In the last round of betting the second community card is revealed completing the player's five card hands. Each player now has either one, two or three bets still in play.

Any player holding a 10's or better hand will win on each of his remaining bets separately according to the payout table. Players whose hands do not make the cut will lose all remaining bets.

Example: Charlie is dealt an 8, 9 and a 10. He feels this hand is a bit weak and retracts one bet.

The first community card is a jack. Suddenly things are looking much better with both a good enough pair and a straight within reach, so he decides to let the rest of his bet ride.

The second community card is a queen completing Charlie's straight. A straight pays 5 to 1 so Charlie wins 5 times the money on BOTH his remaining bets!
