Strategy in poker is all about common sense, knowing when to pack it in is the best advice anyone can offer. After all, you don't come to a poker room to deliberately lose, you come to hopefully win. But in winning you also need to know when to call it a day.

Before even entering the room, make sure you have set yourself some personal rules for play, these include how much am I going to gamble, and how long do I intend to stay? Once you have reached these two objectives, then that is the time to leave.

Remember, you can always come back another day.

Never assume that you know how the players you are playing against are going to play, in the initial hands it is always best to keep a low, low profile, never bluff too early, and stay within your limits.

Don't play every hand, sit and watch the action, you can learn a lot from people's expressions and the way they handle their cards. Know the odds and be aware of the calculations involved.
